Charms System

From OmegaMMO

Introduction

The Charm System allows players to collect and upgrade special items that provide passive, permanent stat bonuses as long as they are in the character's inventory. Charms are categorized as consumable-like accessories and can be upgraded through five grades: None (Base) → D → C → B → A. Each grade multiplies the charm's base effect.

Key Features of the Charm System
Maximum Charms
  • Basic Charms (STR, AGI, VIT, etc.): You can have a maximum of 3 charms of the same type.
  • Novice Charms: You can have a maximum of 2 Novice charms in total.
Upgrading Charms are upgraded via the NPC Aragon at (omegamap,175,172)

. There are two upgrade methods: a cheaper option with a risk of losing the charm on failure, and a "safe" option that is more expensive but preserves the charm if the upgrade fails.

Stacking Effects The bonuses from charms of the same type stack. However, if you exceed the maximum number of charms allowed for a specific type, all effects from that charm type will be nullified. You will receive a one-time warning message if this happens.

How to Upgrade Charms

The upgrade process is handled exclusively by the NPC Aragon.

  1. Speak to Aragon at (omegamap,175,172)

.

  1. Select the charm you wish to upgrade from your inventory. Only non-A-grade charms will be listed.
  2. Choose your preferred upgrade method:
    • Minimum Cost: Cheaper, but the charm is destroyed upon failure.
    • Safe Cost: More expensive, but the charm is not destroyed upon failure (you only lose the materials and Zeny for the attempt).
  3. Confirm the process to pay the material and Zeny cost. A successful upgrade will be accompanied by a special effect.

Charm Types and Effects

The bonus from each charm is determined by its grade. These effects are passive and apply as long as the charms are in your inventory and you have not exceeded the maximum count for that type.

Grade Multiplier
None (Base) 1x
D 2x
C 3x
B 4x
A 5x

Basic Charms

A maximum of 3 of each basic charm type can be active at once. Each charm provides a base bonus of +5 to its corresponding stat, which is then multiplied by its grade.

Charm Name & ID Base Effect (per charm)
Charm of STR (40300) +5 STR × Grade Multiplier
Charm of AGI (40301) +5 AGI × Grade Multiplier
Charm of VIT (40302) +5 VIT × Grade Multiplier
Charm of INT (40303) +5 INT × Grade Multiplier
Charm of DEX (40304) +5 DEX × Grade Multiplier
Charm of LUK (40305) +5 LUK × Grade Multiplier
Charm of POW (40306) +5 POW × Grade Multiplier
Charm of STA (40307) +5 STA × Grade Multiplier
Charm of WIS (40308) +5 WIS × Grade Multiplier
Charm of SPL (40309) +5 SPL × Grade Multiplier
Charm of CON (40310) +5 CON × Grade Multiplier
Charm of CRT (40311) +5 CRT × Grade Multiplier

Novice Charms

A maximum of 2 Novice charms can be active in total (e.g., two Novice Charms, or one Novice Charm and one New Novice Charm). Each provides All Stats +1 plus additional bonuses based on its grade.

Charm Name & ID Additional Effects by Grade

New Novice Charm (40313)
Grade D: +1% MaxHP Rate
Grade C: +1% MaxSP Rate
Grade B: -2% Variable Cast Time
Grade A: +2% ASPD Rate

  • All Stats +2 (from the base effect of two charms)
  • +2% MaxHP Rate (from two charms at Grade D or higher)
  • +2% MaxSP Rate (from two charms at Grade C or higher)
  • -4% Variable Cast Time (from two charms at Grade B or higher)

Strategy & Tips

Obtaining Charms Base charms can be found as drops from high-level monsters (especially in Episode 21+ areas like (jor_sklf2,{{{2}}},{{{3}}})

), quest rewards, or from special events. Upgraded charms cannot be traded.

Upgrade Strategy Because failure can result in losing your charm, it is highly recommended to use the Safe Cost option when upgrading rare or high-grade charms. Use the Minimum Cost option only if you have easily replaceable, low-grade charms.
Stacking Bonuses Prioritize upgrading charms to Grade A to maximize the 5x multiplier. Do not carry more than the maximum allowed number of a charm type (3 for basic, 2 for novice) in your inventory at once, or you will lose all bonuses from that type.
Max Bonus Example With three A-grade STR Charms, you would gain a massive bonus of (5 STR × 5 multiplier) × 3 charms = +75 STR.
